Robert Parker grants 91 points to Godeval 2010
The critic outstands the freshness and expressivity of Vintage 2010
Godeval 2010 has earned 91 points in the last ‘The Wine Advocate’(Robert Parker) issue.
Jay Miller, Parker’s associate and Spanish wine specialist, states in the last issue of ‘The Wine Advocate’ that: “The 2010 SAT Godeval is a bit fresher and more expressive. This nicely proportioned white will drink well through 2016. The founders of Godeval deserve much of the credit for rescuing the once nearly extinct Godello grape and making the first Godello-based wine in 1986. Both vintages were fermented and raised in stainless steel with a small portion of the wine aged sur lie".
Miller’s preference for autochthonous varieties, as the Godello grape from the appellation Valdeorras, is well know. Thus, the score given to Godeval is not only the highest of the winery so far, but also an endorsement to its trajectory, and to the quality and good ageing of its wines, with a drinking recommendation over the next five years. No doubt, a full success for Godeval.
